Climate Anxiety Is Real and So Are We!
This is a safe space for all the feelings and emotions to face the climate catastrophe with Hope, Courage, and Love.
Come share and build community. This is a critical space for learning, connecting, and increasing our resiliency. This is a safe space to share your fears and hopes about this challenging time we live in. We build a better tomorrow today and we will take bold, courageous, loving steps to protect our planet and our humanity when we can have a supportive community.
Families For a Future is building a youth-led, family centered, intergenerational movement in LA, to address the water crisis & climate catastrophe. We use tools of cultural liberation & healing justice (dance, music, meditation, visual arts, performance arts.) All we do is rooted in strengthening community bonds and includes healing, service and action. We inspire, with courageous love, the creative disruption necessary to break us free of the status quo and the constant march towards complacency.
**The Support Group is on hold and will resume Tuesday, August 23, 2022, when we will provide 2nd and 4th Tuesday 8:30-9:30 Zoom call. Come when you can, the door always open!
For our first session, we will focus on the phrase – “It is always darkest before the dawn.” It also means it will be darkest before it gets better and it will be harder before its easier.
– What does this mean to you in this time? how does it apply to the climate crisis?
– How do we increase our resiliency?

While there is a contextual history for self-emulation, tonight we are going to talk about how we return/maintain ourselves and our actions from a place of hope, courage, and love.
- What kind of acts come up from a place of Courage, Hope, and Love?
- What is the difference between intentions and consequences?- Do we need to be responsible if our actions allow others to find justification to harm them selves?- Many youth today are taking there own lives or contemplating it
- How do we not fall into acts of despair or desperation as we become more desperate to see change?
- What does it take to maintain hope, love, and courage when the world has failed?
- What is the role of community/support group?
We don’t get to live in the light anymore. We have to live within the darkness that has been made by the failure of the adults and leaders. Now we have to be the light within the darkness. We must make our own light so others can help to make it bigger.

GROUP PURPOSE- This space is for the community to have community. In todays world our change work cannot only be about the world around us. We have to adapt and increase our capacity for resiliency. And it is our responsibility to treat people like whole beings. Not issues. So we want to talk about it so we can be about it. Why we believe hope and inspiration is the greatest need at this time. We have to remind ourselves we are more than extinction. Organically build this model together and our ultimate to increase our resiliency and capacity to continually & always courage, love, hope.
